The next annual meeting of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies will take place in Barcelona from January 1st-6th 2012. All participants will be hosted at the international student residence Pedralbes. The academic sessions will be held at the prestigious IESE Business School. London 2011
Tower Bridge LondonThe annual meeting 2011 took place in London from January 1st-6th. This year's articipants came from Israel, Croatia, Italy, Austria, New Zealand, Ireland, UK, Canada, Slovakia and Switzerland. During the academic sessions questions regarding free will and the relationship between freedom and development were discussed. Some presentations are online. Bridging the Gap
For a long time science and philosophy seemed divided by deep gap. Today's scientists, however, have rediscovered philsophical reflexion as a means to face questions raised by brain research and quantum physical phenomenon. The Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies was initially founded in 1989, in order to reflect on the philosophical implications of science. Due to globalisation, and in order to widen its multidisciplinar scope, the IIS meanwhile also includes economics as a field for philosophical thought. Find out more here ...
